To maintain the best quality of towel it is recommended to wash the towels not in combination with normal clothes. Furthermore, it is essential to wash the towel separate on a colour basis, so “dark” coloured towels should not be combined with “white” colour towels.
It is very important to minimise the use of detergent and softener since towels can feel stiff after to much use of detergent and softener. This feeling is caused due to fact the towels start to develop a residue for soap. When a
little bit less detergent is used, the washing machine’s rinse cycle will wash out all the soap.
Furthermore, fabric softeners contain silicon that will make towels water repellent, which minimise the impact
of a wash. We propose to soften your towels by using one cup of white vinegar about every one-to-two months.
This trick will eliminate the soapy residue that makes towels feel rough, restore the softness and bring back the
full absorbency capacity of the towel. So once every one-to-two months, wash the towels as usual and
afterwards redo them using the white vinegar instead of soap.
Once the towels are out of the washing machine shake the “excess” water out of your towels before you hang
them to dry or put them in the dryer. This action will help to fluff the terry loops and keep them absorbent.
We recommend hanging towels to dry naturally without a “fold”. Hang the towel in a vertical position where
only the top of the towel is attached to a “line”. However, for extra fluffiness, you are able to put the towels in
the dryer, it is suggested to dry the towels with two clean tennis balls for 5-10 minutes.
Most often towels are washed after a certain amount of days. However, we propose to wash your towels after a certain amount of uses instead. In our opinion it is best to wash the towels after 3-5 washes so the towels are always as hygiene as possible.
1) It is suggested to not put a severe number of towels at one load in your washing machine at once. This could distort the machine and does not allow enough space to rinse out all the detergent and stains from the towels. This principle also applies for drying, since an overload will cease the air in the dryer to properly fluff the fabric.
2) Please keep in mind to remove the towels quickly after the washing machine is done. When the towels are not unloaded this can result in an unpleasant smell.
3) The heat from a dryer could harm the cotton of the towel. As of this, it is proposed to use once in a while lower heat setting or alternate between air and heat drying.
4) Do not use an ironing machine to dry your towels or remove wrinkles. The heat of an ironing machine will affect the cotton fibre and reduce absorbency op the towel.
